| The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral
Home was opened at its present site as the Swanson Funeral
Home by Albert Swanson in 1927. Before that time he
operated a funeral parlor on W. Washington St., and
other undertakers in the area were affiliated with furniture
dealers. Albert, a 1939 president of the Michigan Funeral
Directors sold the business to Jack McCracken in 1949.
Jack served as president of MFDA in 1969, and retained
ownership of the business until selling it to David
and Carol Lundquist in 1976. Over the years the building,
which was built as a family home in the late 1800’s
has undergone three major renovations, and is centrally
located in the Village Business District on Third St.
We are an independently owned and operated funeral home,
and our mission is to provide professional and personal
service in a dignified manner to families in the Marquette
area. We are committed to Marquette and the surrounding
area and we believe in sharing both our time and our
financial resources in endeavors and community projects
which enhance the Marquette area.
